Safe Water in Haiti
STATUS: Ongoing
Relief Team One Organization (RT1) is teaming up with For One Another Foundation (FOA) to make a difference in the lives of Haitian children.
Cause: Our friends at RT1 have built an orphanage in Haiti for ninety children, most of whom have lost both parents to either the earthquake or Cholera. By October 12th, FOA, would like to be in Haiti to give a permanent water filtration system to this orphanage.
System: The system not only purifies contaminated water, it uses solar power to speed up the process to a rate of 1,440 gallons of safe, clean drinking water every 24 hours.
Team: FOA will be on site to oversee the whole installation. RT1 will train locals to maintain the water system and the well.
Sustainability: The orphanage will sell baked goods and bottled water to promote independence from outside aid.
Water Purification-El Salvador
STATUS: Ongoing
We feel so excited and blessed to be able to continue our mission in 2011 of education, safe water, and medical supplies to those in need. Our current focus area is El Salvador, Central America.
We are delivering and assembling Sawyer Point One water filters to an orphanage that almost 100 children call their home. We plan to educate them about hygiene and the importance of clean water for better health. Along with the water filters, we will also deliver supplies needed for everyday living. Included in our mission is the delivery and stocking of medical supplies to a local community health clinic and many other community projects in need of clean water. We would love for you to join us and be part of this mission by clicking on our BLOG link!
Our goal is to raise money to be able to carry out this mission with a time frame of today through December 2011. If you feel you want to be part of this initiative, you can make a DONATION to help purchase the following necessities:
- Water Filters
- Medical Supplies
- Children's Medicine
- Children's shoes and clothing
We are excited to be involved in the lives of the children of El Salvador and feel working with them on a daily basis is the best way to make a long-term difference. Please consider a donation and be part of this year's mission to improve the health and future of these young people for generations to come.
Water Purification-Northern Mexico
STATUS: Completed
In December 2010 we had the opportunity to help Globalize-This Photography (www.Globalize-This.org) with their water project in North Central Mexico. We were a few hours from Saltillo and Monterrey in a small town of about 300 called Estanque De Leon. The people were drinking from an open reservoir shared by animals and open to the environment. We spent Christmas in the desert delivering, teaching and assembling the Sawyer PointOne filters to the people of the town. These filters will improve the health of all- especially the children. Purified water will end the suffering caused by waterborne illness and disease.

Mission to Haiti
STATUS: Completed
For One Another Foundation's "Haiti Mission" was a success!
It was an unforgettable but beautiful experience. What I saw there confirmed the horror stories of poverty, suffering, hunger, sickness, grief and destruction that have been told by the media. Witnessing all that was just described I am amazed how the Haitians still make their environment magical as they are grateful, respectful, and always looking for any reason to give someone a smile.
Touching thousands, literally thousands, of people lives in a short few weeks we feel every penny of the $5,000 For One Another Foundation, Inc. raised, for desperately needed medication and injections, was used to its maximum. We aided Iniciativa Comunitaria in assembling and stocking their first hospital in Haiti while assisting medical care to the Haitians across the land. Special thanks to Iniciativa Comunitaria for allowing For One Another Foundation, Inc. to work by their side as we would be honored to do so in the future.
Through your contribution you all have made a difference in the people of Haiti. You have showed the Haitians they are not alone, they are not forgotten, and people across the world do care. Thank you for your support and for making this all possible.

Yaquier
STATUS: Completed
The Story:
His name is Yaquier Manuel (pronounced Jackier). He will be two years old on the 22nd of September this year. His mom is single and he is the youngest of his six siblings. The oldest is fourteen. His 3 year old brother has had medical problems and has recently had a cast taken off that he had from the waist down. With these complications, it has been impossible for his mother to sufficiently support the whole family and Yaquier has been the most effected by this in his short lifetime. He appears weak, sick, unconscious of his surroundings, silent, breathes very shallow and is so far beyond hungry he has no appetite and refuses to eat. He drinks water and nurses still but his mom is anemic and so its not enough. They say he was born like this but has worsened the past four months. Imagine a year of constant pain and just enough calories to keep you shallowly breathing. This is his reality. With the right program, a lot of care and medical attention, he may pull through this nightmare, still.
The Facts:
On March 27, 2010, we took him to the best Pediatric Specialist available. He was diagnosed with Bronchitis and Stage lll Malnourishment. We spoke to the doctor and he told us that the baby has a temperature of 38.7C (102F), is severely underweight and developmentally behind. He doesn't yet walk or even sit up alone and only knows a few words; mama, gracias and agua.
The Program:
He was given seven different prescriptions including antibiotics. The first step is to clear the Bronchitis because the malnourishment can't be treated while there are other sicknesses present. He is now on a strict recovery program that includes medication, supplements, specific foods, weekly IV's and respiratory therapy. The pace of the program completely depends on his response to it.
The Difference; its you and I.
We are can be the difference for Yaquier between life and death. We will see him all the way through to better days and peaceful nights, to enough energy to have an appetite, and to breaths strong enough to someday laugh and play. At these early stages in his program he is taking all his medications. He had his second visit to the doctor yesterday, April 2, and was written yet another prescription in hopes of being ready for IV treatment this coming Saturday. The cost for all these treatments, the prescriptions, transportation, consultations and weekly IV's is about $50 per week. According to the doctor, Respiratory Therapy is not appropriate until he shows certain signs of improvement. Lets all work together and remember this little boy. Nobody deserves as much pain in a lifetime as this child has been through already. Thank you for your support in anyway of this cause.
Crucita's House
STATUS: Completed
Currently, Crucita is living with a family member in a town called 'Puerto El Morro' near the coast, in Ecuador, South America. This single mother, like many people these days, is undergoing some economic hardships. The youngest of her seven children is only a year old. The boy with the cast in the picture has broken his leg so, as we can only imagine, Crucita truly has her hands full.
This family is in need of a place to live and For One Another Foundation would like to build them a house! Starting very soon, in March 2010, we will be on site with your donations, collaborating with locals and working side by side to make this family a home.
Want to help make this possible? Please make a donation now.
